KIND

Logo Reveal

I used KIND’s three-part slogan: Kinder to our Bodies, Kinder to our Communities, and Kinder to our Planet as the foundation for my concept of a return to nature through real, all-natural ingredients.

The camera first establishes the boarded-up birdhouse as the base of operation for manufacturing dangerously addictive candy. We pan out to reveal the squirrels distributing these products from the shadows. Safely basking in the sunlight above is the one squirrel that chose to eat KIND instead.

Process

In early storyboards I explored the world of Squirreltopia, from how grocery stores would function to how the squirrels might interact with parkgoers.

For the birdhouse base I considered the materials of the squirrels’ tools coming from wood, plastic, aluminum, and other recycled garbage.

I decided to keep the squirrel designs less anthromophized to emphasize their return to nature and simplicity.

For my final frames I designed them in Cinema 4D to represent ‘nature’ as being a more physical, tactile reality.

Later on I sculpted some of the squirrels using polymer clay for fun.
